Description
This lesson covers basic electrical safety practices based on the OSHA standards stated in 29CFR 1910 requiring qualification for work on live circuits. The lesson provides an understanding of electricity focused on increased awareness and prevention of industrial accidents.
Objectives
Describe how voltage, current, and resistance are related and the effects various amounts of current have on the human body. Identify the factors that influence body resistance to electric shock. Describe how the amount of time spent in contact with an electrical circuit will affect the severity of shock. List basic safety rules when working around electricity. Describe the safe loading of circuits.
